About
Ethics issues—whether raised by the state bar or by the USPTO's Office of Enrollment and Discipline—can create problems for trademark lawyers. Join former USPTO OED Attorney Emil J. Ali (now at McCabe & Ali, LLP) as he walks us through in-depth hypotheticals based upon real issues trademark lawyers face. He'll discuss ethics issues from the start to the end of the client relationship and explain how to prevent potential ethics and malpractice issues down the road. This ethics CLE event is designed for new and experienced attorneys alike, and it will cover common problems specific to trademark practitioners including specimens, conflicts, and more. By the end of the presentation, attendees should be able to answer questions such as:

* What searching or review is required before I file a trademark application?
* How should I deal with an Office Action that cites my client’s mark?
* When is a trademark applicant no longer my client?

Everyone who’s registered for this webinar will receive an email with a link to the recording.

This session qualifies for ethics CLE credit in California. For more information about CLE credit for Alt Legal events, including whether your state qualifies, check out this page: https://www.altlegal.com/cle-information/
