Signature software will be accepted for trademark submissions

Our customers have often said they need more modern methods for signing trademark documents. Well, we heard you! We've updated our guidance to give applicants and attorneys the option of using software such as DocuSign and Adobe to electronically sign declarations in the Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) and TEAS International. This change goes into effect July 22, 2023.

“Adding the option of using signature software to sign trademark documents is just one of the ways that we are simplifying and streamlining our processes for trademark applicants and attorneys,” said Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO Kathi Vidal.
