The Trademark Counsel Digital Intellectual Property will work with cross-functional legal and business teams to provide risk assessments, intellectual property clearance, enforcement and protection, and client education. Our ideal candidate is proactive, entrepreneurial and solutions oriented, and enjoys taking on new challenges. The position will report directly to the Associate General Counsel, Digital IP.What You'll Do
- Manage global trademark, copyright and domain portfolios;
- Advise businesses on selection of trademarks, conduct global trademark clearances, and prepare risk assessments;
- Manage disputes and enforcement activities, including investigations, DMCA takedowns, cease and desist letters, oppositions, cancellations, UDRPs and IP litigation;
- Review and clear game and promotional content for compliance with copyright, trademark and right of publicity laws;
- Negotiate and draft assignments, licenses, consent agreements and other IP agreements;
- Manage relationships with IP product and support vendors;
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand, support and protect business growth and product development by implementing and supporting IP strategy, policies, programs, communications, tools and templates;
- Balance multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced industry.
What We're Looking For
· Exceptional academic background from a top-tier law school and currently admitted to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction (in good standing);
· 5+ years of relevant IP and/or trademark experience;
· Impeccable oral and written communication skills;
· Strong drafting skills;
· Keen eye for issue spotting across legal disciplines;
· Ability to simply and clearly provide sound counsel and efficiently drive complex projects in the face of imperfect information and ambiguity;
· Ability to react with urgency to situations and events that require a quick response;
· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams;
· High level of professional integrity and discretion with colleagues and senior management internally, and with third parties on behalf of the company;
· Excellent, practical judgment regarding business and legal decisions; and
· Communication and influence style that is straightforward and inclusive.
