ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY, TRADEMARK

Erik M Pelton and Associates was founded with the dream of making intellectual property protection understandable,
accessible, and affordable for businesses of all sizes and types. We’re currently looking for an Associate Attorney who can
support our clients to reach their business goals and make the most of their brand assets.

Job Details:

The Associate Attorney will work closely with the Erik Pelton (Founder and Lead Attorney), as well as other Associates of
the firm. This will be a full-time (40+ hours/week), mainly in-office 1 position in our Northern Virginia office 2. Our team
works Monday-Friday, generally from 9am to 5pm ET.

Salary range is $110,00 - $140,000 commensurate with experience. Excellent opportunity to work with a leading
trademark law firm for former USPTO examiners, associates with trademark experience, or for a recent law school
graduate with a strong background in IP and trademark courses.

About the Position:

You have the desire, skills, and experience needed to lead the following activities:
• All aspects of US trademark filings, especially drafting applications and Office Action responses
• Trademark infringement matters, including drafting cease and desist letters and responses
• Counseling clients on trademark searches and brand strategies
• TTAB trademark dispute matters, including discovery, motions, pleadings, and briefs
• Filing applications for copyright registration
• International trademark filing work

Requirements:
• J.D. degree with admission in good standing (or pending) to a State Bar

• Demonstrated passion for trademarks and experience navigating the USPTO application process for clients
• Experience dealing with the USPTO in prior employment, internship, or clinic work (preferred)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing variety of matters and deadlines

• Collaborative and creative team player
• Confident and clear communicator with excellent writing skills
